AIFS Partnership students and faculty lingering over dinner

After eating at almost every trattoria, osteria and ristorante in Florence, the AIFS team has selected 10 of their favourites based on quality and variety, for the meal vouchers scheme. We have been working with some of the restaurants for over 10 years, which means the students get the best treatment and even extra helpings here and there! All the restaurants offer something different, from traditional Tuscan to diner style and even sushi!

Transport

Since students live and study in the historic city center, transport tends to mainly be of the personal kind, ie. Feet! Though all the walking comes as a bit of a shock to most students at the beginning, by the end of the program they see the benefits...it is the best way to see the sights, hear the sounds and taste the smells of their new home. Buses tend to be slow, late, unreliable and often on strike anyway so they are best avoided!

Museums

Florence itself is like an open air museum with statues and monuments in every piazza. Beyond that, the city houses some of the finest and most varied museums in Europe from the Uffizi gallery, the Accademia and Palazzo Pitti to the shoe museum, the photography museum and the History of Science museum.
