What is Included?
- Academic program of courses taught by Southern California Community College faculty and local guest lecturers.
- Housing in twin room homestays within the residential neighbourhood of London in the inner 3 zones of the London transport system. Breakfast will be provided in the homestay five days per week and students will have kitchen privileges. (For a supplemental fee, accommodation in a shared apartment in central London will be available – see Optional Components section for details).
- Orientation program consisting of orientation meeting with AIFS staff, welcome reception and half-day sightseeing tour of London by private coach with the services of a professional guide.
- Free wireless internet access in the study Centre during class hours, Monday to Friday.
- London Transport travel pass, valid for use on buses and underground trains in Zones 1 and 2 and for travel to and from accommodation provided by AIFS, for the duration of the programme.
- A British Life and Culture Course focusing on historical, political, economic and cultural aspects of contemporary Britain, including 10 weekly lectures, 4 local field trips and a student activity plan.
- Special membership the University of London Union giving access to Union clubs and societies and, at an additional cost, sports facilities.
- Membership, with borrowing rights, of the local borough public library.
- Access to AIFS Student Centre providing on-site student information services from a team of experienced, full time AIFS staff, providing personal advising, fax and mail services and 24 hour emergency duty phone service.
- Medical and program fee refund insurance
policies.
- Optional transatlantic flights.
- Optional tour of Europe before start
of program.
- Optional mid program tour of Scotland.
- Optional package of cultural activities can be purchased for a supplemental fee. This will consist of 10 activities: 4 one-day excursions by private bus accompanied by a professional guide and with specified entrances included, plus 6 evening cultural events in central London.
