Motion Picture Appreciation
Motion Picture Appreciation is an introductory course in which the student will learn how to analyze films on technical, aesthetic, and thematic levels. Historically significant films will be used as source material. Proficiency will be demonstrated in critical essays. CSU;UC

Beginning Drawing
Beginning drawing is a foundation course. It is an introduction to perspective, gridding for enlargement, value study, form, analysis, composition, and drawing concerns such as content, historical/cultural context, technique, and aesthetics. Work is in standard drawing media. This course is required of all art majors and is a prerequisite to all studio art courses. Intermediate Drawing
Prerequisite: Art 111 (Beginning Drawing) Intermediate Drawing emphasizes conceptual art through advanced imaginative and subjective approaches to drawing. This course includes experimental use of media, theoretical and conceptual approaches to content, and examination of aesthetics within contemporary drawing concerns.
