Paula Snyder, Ph.D. Associate Professor, Department of Sociology, Chaffey College

Paula Snyder, PhD, is a sociologist with a background in interdisciplinary study and research. She approaches teaching with the philosophy that sociology is the foundation of creating better societies and more fulfilling lives for all. Dr Snyder earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from University of California, Riverside, Her Master of Arts degree is in Interdisciplinary studies from the California State University, San Bernardino, and her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Sociology from Howard University in Washington, D.C. She wrote her dissertation on race and class inequality in the U.S. system of higher education. Her main area of study has been Clinical Sociology, an emergent field within the discipline of Sociology. Clinical Sociology applies the sociological perspective to assessing and solving problems from the individual and group levels to the national and international levels.
