Examine characteristics of social life, processes of social interaction, consequences of group membership, structures f the institutions of modern society, factors perpetuating social inequality, conditions affecting social change and globalization.

Social Problems (SOC 70, 3 units)
Global social problems examined using sociological research; focus on challenges to South African society including race relations, environment, global economy, health care, poverty, homophobia, substance abuse and gender inequality.
