What is Included?

  • Academic program of courses taught by Northern California Study Abroad Consortium faculty.

  • Orientation programme upon arrival in Paris, consisting of a two-day orientation with AIFS staff with workshops; student information and handbook, maps and local area information. Half-day sightseeing tour of Paris by private bus with the services of a professional English-speaking guide, and a welcome reception.

  • Support staff in Paris. During the program a fully staffed office on site in the Study Centre providing an AIFS Programme Co-ordinator, and 2 other AIFS Student Advisors to work with the Consortium faculty and students to provide information, personal advising/counselling, fax and mail services and 24-hour emergency contact service.

  • Social and cultural program. A weekly social and cultural programme (such as trips to museums, historical/cultural sites, walking tours, concerts, Opera, ballet, & cheese and wine evening).

  • Meals included: For students staying at the FIAP daily continental breakfast and five other meals a week (lunch or dinner) are provided.

  • Housing in either:

    Shared twin-bedded room at the FIAP Jean Monnet with en suite bathroom and daily cleaning service. Included in this option is continental breakfast every day and five lunches or dinners weekly in the on-site cafeteria. These meals represent a minimum value of $1000.

    Studios with kitchenette within a 30 minute radius by public transport of the classrooms with two students sharing a twin-bedded room with kitchenette as standard. Meals are not included in the apartment option but students are entitled to purchase meals in the FIAP Jean Monnet cafeteria at their own expense.

    A limited number of shared twin-bedded rooms in a homestay with a local family within a 45 minute radius by public transport of the classrooms. Daily continental breakfast is included and there is limited access to the kitchen in the evenings at a set time.

  • Carte Orange travel pass for use on Metro, buses and RER in the central travel zone

  • French Life and Culture Course taught by qualified English-speaking guest lecturers focusing on historical, political, economic and cultural aspects of France with supporting field trips.

  • Privileged rate for buying internet time at the FIAP Internet centre.

  • Study Centre facilities including classrooms and audio visual equipment.

  • Medical and program fee refund, insurance policies.

  • Transatlantic flights San Francisco to Paris with transfers to the accommodation in Paris

  • Optional European Pre tour (London, Brussels and Bruges)

  • Optional single room available at the FIAP and in the homestay for a supplementary fee of $1500.
