Feedback from Partnership faculty:

University of Wyoming faculty Leigh Selting (Professor of Theatre) and Marsha Knight (Professor of Dance) took their students to London:

University of Wyoming Study Abroad London students and Professors Selting and Knight on a Thames riverboat enroute to visit Greenwhich for British Life and Culture class, Spring 2003
"The AIFS staff was helpful beyond belief! Whether it was directions to a British Life and Culture event, a recommendation for a good restaurant, tube closure information, suggestions for area travel, or simply a quick smile and a welcoming chat in the morning, we couldn't have been made to feel more at home! Their dedication and committment to ensuring our time in London was productive and enriching is one of the fondest memories we'll take back with us to the University of Wyoming!"

Feedback from Partnership students:

Carisa Olson from Metro State College of Denver spent Spring Semester 2003 in London:

"The London Semester is the best thing I have ever done. England is a beautiful country.
Carisa's Tips:

  • Do the day trips. They are a lot of fun and it is a nice change from the big city.
  • The AIFS staff is amazing, they can help with anything.
  • Travel as much as possible. Don’t wait until the last minute to do things.
  • Bring lots of money.
  • Learn to get along without a microwave.
  • Make the most of every minute you have here, three months goes by quicker than you think."

Jackie Sabur from Mount St Mary’s College spent Spring Semester 2003 in London:

"This trip has been one of the best experiences of my life. Without a doubt, I would absolutely recommend the AIFS study abroad program to anyone. The staff is friendly, extremely helpful, organized and good fun! There was never a time I questioned my decision to spend the semester in London. The AIFS people treat you like family and keep you informed on the most recent eighties comeback! There are so many opportunities to travel and see the many parts of the UK. Hairy cows and fried mars bars – it doesn’t get much better than that. Basically this trip was full of good people, good food and good times. Thank you for making my time here awesome!"

Laurel Bucholz from Metro State College of Denver spent Spring Semester 2003 in London:

"'When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life.' There is no statement more true than this. I never once found myself bored, no matter what the time was. Morning, noon or 3am – there was always some form of entertainment to be had. Whether it was grabbing English breakfast at one of the many local pubs, taking a stroll through Hyde Park on a Sunday morning listening to all the nuts spout out their philosophies or taking in a show at one of the dozens of theatre venues around the town, I was constantly amused.

The only thing I didn’t like about London was having to leave! I will even go so far as to be cheesy and quote Dirty Dancing when I say 'I had the time of my life, no I’ve never felt this way before….'"

I want to go back in time and do this trip all over again!!!!!!!!!”

I'm glad that I took this opportunity and have since decided that I must live in Europe again but next time for at least a year.”
